Accessibility and Availability

Neighborhood

The cottage is located in the heart of Manitou Springs' charming historic district, seconds' walk to coffee houses, restaurants, specialty shops, galleries, mineral springs, and local trails, including Red Mountain, Iron Mountain, Barr, and Ute Pass Trail, Rainbow Falls, Williams Canyon, and the Manitou Incline. The neighborhood is safe, convenient, and distinctively mountain-urban, with an eclectic mix of Victorian, Arts and Crafts, and more modern era homes. People watch and hit novelty shops, rent an e-bike downtown and cycle to the Garden of the Gods or Red Rock Canyon Park, where you can marvel at incredible red rock formations or drive up the nearby highway to the summit of America's Mountain, Pike's Peak. Play drums, hoop ,dance, picnic or just vibe at the bohemian-style Drum Cricle with the locals at Memorial park every Thursday from 6-9 p.m. between May and early October. Or reserve some time at Sunwater Spa by 7-minute Spring to soak in heated mineral water tubs, get a treatment, luxuriate in the sauna or take a yoga class. It's all here!

Guest Access

You'll have the cottage house to yourself, with your own private off-street parking a few feet from the cottage. Come and go as you please via the stone steps to the parking area, head down the street to Manitou Avenue, or take an invigorating walk through the charming neighborhoods lining the foothills of Manitou Springs.

Walking remains the easiest and healthiest form of transport in the town, and most of what one needs is readily accessible by foot. A free shuttle operates on a 20-minute cycle for in-town transport from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and will take one to and from Eastern Manitou Springs and the Cog Railway, the Manitou Incline and Barr Trail Head on Ruxton Avenue in Southwestern Manitou. Rickshaw and e-bike options are also available. Manitou Springs no longer hosts the trolley that long ago took people from Colorado Springs and neighboring Old Colorado City to and from Manitou, but one can take the same journey using the #3 bus which features stops in several locations along Manitou Avenue. You can also jump on a City Bus in town and take it through Old Colorado City to downtown Colorado Springs and beyond.

Spectacular place such a great location! We had 10 inches of snow the day we arrived, Christopher was very prompt in getting the snow removed for our stay. Very intimate place for 2 love birds. ( We celebrated our 23 year anniversary here.) We look forward to staying at "The Nest" again in the future! Also, Christopher was easy to communicate with, very nice gentleman.

My husband and I enjoyed a few days at this adorable place. It has everything you need and is right in town so you can walk everywhere but you feel like you are in your own private, magical place. The Nest is perfectly quirky as you would expect of an old structure, but with all the modern amenities that would want. We absolutely loved our time here.

The cozy cabin I remembered from a previous stay… and now with a HOT TUB?!? What an upgrade! Private. Warm. Cozier than I even remembered. Dinner and coffee walkable early morning and late at night. This place makes me want to live here full time. Absolutely recommend.

We had a great stay at the Nest- it is a cozy space that is perfect for visiting Manitou springs. It is an easy walk into town (really just a roll down the hill). We appreciated the location and took full advantage of being able to walk to all the restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping. We used the hot tub nightly to relax, they have done a fantastic job of making the hot tub private. Would stay again!

The Nest is exactly what we needed for our quick trip to Manitou Springs! It is right off the main drag but quiet and cozy. Lots of shops, restaurants and activities in walking distance. The Manitou Incline and Cog Railway are less than a mile away, and all 8 springs are close by. The hot tub was spotless and the perfect way to soak sore muscles are hiking. The Nest had everything we needed and lots of supplies available like toiletries, coffee, tea etc. They had super soft robes and slippers to use for before/after the hot tub. I would stay here again if I return to Manitou Springs!
